Security Breach Affects Farm Bureau Bank Cardholders

Barclays, a Farm Bureau Bank credit card issuer, recently announced a data security breach which occurred at Epsilon, an email marketing firm used to communicate to Farm Bureau Bank cardholders. While cardholder names and email addresses were exposed, we have been assured that personal and confidential information associated with those names was not compromised.

However, there is a possibility cardholders may receive spam or phishing email messages requesting further confidential or personal account information.

As a security measure, we want to caution all Farm Bureau Bank customers and partners to please remain alert to any unusual or suspicious emails. Never open attachments from unknown senders. Do not respond to phishing emails and, unless you are on the secure Farm Bureau Bank Internet Banking site, never offer any of the following personal information:

• Full account numbers
• Usernames
• Passwords
• Social Security numbers

If you receive an email requesting your personal or confidential information, it did not come from Farm Bureau Bank. Delete the email and report the incident immediately by calling 1.800.492.3276 and then 1 to follow the prompts.
